The company Tranex Turismo S.A. was created on May 15th, 1992, by Antonio Enrique Diaz who was the president at that time. This company was the founded of the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino, an tourist product innovative that has been in operation since its inauguration on October 11,1994, in the city of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
The investment required by this Railway is around four million dollars, which were necessary to build the End of the World Station, all the rolling material, the laying of tracks, paying for the transfers and annexed civil constructions.
In order to give life to this project, a workshop specialized in metallurgy, carpentry and painting was specially set up in the town of San Fernando, Province of Buenos Aires, which designed and built not only the tourist and first class coachs, but also gave life to the first steam locomotive in the country, named Nora.
Tranex Turismo S.A. was the first company in the country that not only applied a railway system to the service of tourism, but also designed and built such system.
